At Indian Trails Middle School, greatness is found in the everyday moments, in the dedication, compassion, enthusiasm, and love our Mustang Professionals bring to our students each day. Today, we proudly celebrate three extraordinary individuals whose commitment to our Mustangs makes ITMS such a special place to learn, work, and grow!
Teacher of the Year – Sierra Salza
Ms. Salza is a phenomenal ELA teacher whose passion for teaching and love for her students are simply infectious! Whether she is diving deep into a challenging reading passage or dancing and dressing up alongside our Mustangs during spirit week, she brings unmatched energy and enthusiasm to everything she does. With a heart of gold and an undeniable love for ITMS, Ms. Salza is truly one of our school's biggest cheerleaders! Beyond the classroom, she leads Emerging Leaders and Student Government, coordinates spirit weeks and school dances, and actively supports our PBIS initiatives. Her dedication to academics, student leadership, and school culture makes her an invaluable part of our Mustang family.
Rookie Teacher of the Year – Nicholas Blumengarten
What an incredible start to a teaching career! As a first-year science teacher, Mr. Blumengarten has already demonstrated an extraordinary passion for science, a genuine love for teaching, and a commitment to helping our Mustangs succeed. His enthusiasm and dedication are wonderful examples of the difference a passionate educator can make. We are excited to watch him continue to grow and inspire future generations of young scientists!
Employee of the Year – Kim Turner
Every great team has someone who keeps things moving, and for our assistant principals, that person is Ms. Kim! Warmhearted, dependable, and always ready to lend a helping hand, Ms. Turner approaches every task with kindness, determination, and a can-do attitude. No challenge is too big and no task is too small for Ms. Kim! Her behind-the-scenes dedication, positive spirit, and unwavering support make an incredible difference in the daily operations of our school. She is truly one of the hearts of ITMS!
To our three outstanding Mustang Professionals: THANK YOU!
Thank you for the countless ways you go above and beyond, for the love you pour into our students, and for the pride you bring to our school community. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and your impact reaches far beyond the classroom and office walls.
We could not be prouder of Ms. Salza, Mr. Blumengarten, and Ms. Turner. You represent the very best of what it means to be a Mustang Professional, and you help make Indian Trails Middle School a wonderful place to work, learn, and have fun!
Once a Mustang, Always a Mustang!

Mustangs, your iPad is an essential learning tool that helps you stay connected, complete assignments, participate in classroom activities, and demonstrate your learning every day!
To set yourself up for success, make sure your iPad is fully charged and ready to go when you arrive at school. Charging your device overnight should become part of your daily routine, just like packing your backpack and getting ready for school.
Keep your iPad with you throughout the school day! Do not leave it behind in a classroom. You may not be able to return to retrieve it until the end of the school day, which could cause you to miss important assignments, activities, or assessments.
Remember to take good care of your device, and use it responsibly for learning. Before leaving each classroom, double-check that you have your iPad and all your belongings.
Remember, Mustangs: Being prepared is part of doing your best! A charged iPad, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn will help you make every school day a success!

Our talented Mustangs filled Matanzas High School with beautiful melodies on Tuesday, October 6, during an outstanding ITMS Chorus Concert!
The evening was especially memorable for our beginning chorus students, many performing on stage for the very first time! Our ITMS Elite Chorus continued the celebration with beautiful harmonies and impressive performances, creating a truly unforgettable musical experience.
Under the exceptional leadership of Ms. Vicki Olson, our chorus teacher, the concert showcased her passion, expertise, and dedication to inspiring young musicians.
Congratulations to Ms. Olson and all our talented performers for a tremendous success! You made the entire Mustang family proud!

Our Media Center was packed on Tuesday, October 13, as Mustang families gathered for our High School Credit Parent Information Night!
The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions, and valuable information about earning high school credits while still in middle school. Our guidance team and teachers shared important insights into course opportunities, GPA and graduation requirements, End-of-Course (EOC) assessments, and strategies for academic success.
What made the evening especially rewarding was the active participation of both parents and students. Families asked great questions, explored academic opportunities, and began making informed plans for high school and beyond!
A heartfelt thank-you to our dedicated teachers, guidance team, and the many families who joined us. Your engagement and commitment to your scholars' futures are what make our Mustang community so special.
At ITMS, we're not just preparing students for high school, we're helping them build a foundation for lifelong success!
Go Mustangs!

This is who we are, this is Mustang PRIDE!
What an incredible celebration at Indian Trails Middle School as our scholars enjoyed their first BIG 3 Celebration of the school year.
From board games and karaoke in the cafeteria to basketball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, and refreshing popsicles, our Mustangs enjoyed a celebration filled with fun, laughter, friendship, and school spirit!
But this celebration was about so much more than having fun. It was about recognizing our scholars for living our BIG 3 Mustang Values each and every day:
-Do What's Right
-Do Your Best
-Treat Others the Way You Want to Be Treated
We are incredibly proud of our scholars for demonstrating these values and helping make ITMS such a special place to learn and grow.
A huge thank-you to our amazing teachers and staff for making this celebration possible!
